The UK Landline Switchover is coming!
What you need to know:
By 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳, traditional analogue landlines across the UK are upgrading to a modern digital network. BT and Northumberland County Council are working alongside each other to help make sure everyone in our community is ready for the move to 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲!
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
• 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲: You won’t lose your current phone number.
• 𝗡𝗼 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁: For most BT customers, the transition is simple and completely free.
• 𝟵𝟵%+ 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Over 99% of existing handsets work with the new system.
• 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽: For most households with broadband, it’s as simple as plugging your phone into your router instead of the wall socket.
• 𝗡𝗼 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱? Don’t worry! BT is providing a dedicated landline service so you can continue using your phone just like today.
𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲?
If you or someone you know uses a 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗺, 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗺, or needs extra assistance during power outages:

• Free in-home engineer visits and backup power solutions are available for customers with additional needs.
