[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The government has decided that Town and Parish Councils should take the lead responsibility for development of Neighbourhood Plans covering their area. Newbiggin by the Sea Town Council has accepted that role and a whole parish area has been designated.

A Steering Group has been appointed including the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Town Council and the two Northumberland County Ward Councillors to provide community representation. Strategic partners with a significant interest in Newbiggin by the Sea were invited to appoint a representative so that employment; regeneration; land and property; commercial trade; community regeneration are all represented.

The Newbiggin by the Sea Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group is supported by both Town Council and Northumberland County Council Officers.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
