Future Housing in Northumberland

What should new homes and neighbourhoods in our town look like?
Northumberland County Council wants our feedback on the new Northumberland Housing Design Standards. This is the plan that will set the rules and guidelines for any new housing developments—or changes to existing residential areas—in our county.
They’ve released a “Project Brief” that outlines their vision, and they want to know if they’ve got it right before they write the final rules.
If you care about things like architectural style, green spaces around housing, privacy, or how new builds fit into our historic town, this is your chance to speak up!
How to get involved:
Visit the NCC Housing Design Standards website: www.northumberland.gov.uk/planning-and-building/planning/planning-policy-and-local-plan/new-northumberland-local-plan?
Prefer to read it in person? You can view the documents at County Hall, Morpeth (Mon-Thu 8:30am–5pm, Fri 8:30am–4:30pm).
Let’s make sure new developments match the character and needs of our community!
