Supporting Front Street Community Garden

🌱 Supporting a Greener Front Street 🌱
Newbiggin Town Council is pleased to share that at the Finance & HR Committee meeting held in November, councillors agreed to a £250 funding request to the Front Street Community Garden Project 🌼
This funding will support the completion of sustainable planting along Front Street, specifically in the area recently adopted from Northumberland County Council. The grant will be used to purchase plants, mulch, and soil improver, helping to create a greener and more attractive environment.
🌿 Cllr Gwen Woodman, Mayor of Newbiggin by the Sea, recently presented a cheque to Angie Main, lead on the Front Street Community Garden Project, recognising the hard work and commitment behind this fantastic community initiative.
The project aims to create a welcoming and environmentally sustainable streetscape, enhancing the visual appeal of Front Street for residents, visitors, and local businesses alike.
Looking ahead, plans include the introduction of seaweed composting later this year as part of ongoing community gardening efforts—further supporting sustainability and environmental responsibility 🌊♻️
Thank you to everyone involved in helping make #Newbigginbythesea greener and more vibrant 💚
