Update on Central Park Play Area and Newbiggin Playzone

We would like to update residents on the current situation regarding our play facilities.

Central Park Play Area

We are currently awaiting a confirmed date to replace the groundworks at Central Park Play Area. Newbiggin Town Council has agreed to fund replacement groundworks only at this stage. The Town Council may wish to revisit further improvements on this site in the future.

Playzone near Newbiggin Community & Sports Hub

The Playzone has not opened as it has experienced issues with floodlighting and internet access. We are awaiting repairs before the facility can be officially opened.

We are aware that children are still accessing this space in the meantime. To help protect the surface and prevent further damage, we kindly ask that scooters and bikes not be taken onto the Playzone surface, as this could cause significant problems.

Once the floodlights and internet access are fully restored, we will look to an official opening date, and those who wish to use this can do so via the booking app.
