Supporting Newbiggin by the Sea Women’s Institute

On 17th July 2025, during the Finance and HR Committee meeting, a grant request from Newbiggin by the Sea Women’s Institute of £500 was agreed. This funding will contribute towards the repair and redecoration of key areas of the hall, including the foyer and stage.
Cllr Gwen Woodman, Chair of Newbiggin by the Sea visited The Women’s Institute on 9th September 2025 and presented the cheque to Gladys Campbell, President of the Newbiggin WI.
The Women’s Institute (WI) is the largest voluntary women’s group in the UK, playing a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities, the chance to build new skills, and the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities. The WI also campaigns on issues that matter to its members and their communities.
Newbiggin Town Council is proud to support the Newbiggin by the Sea WI and help ensure their hall remains a welcoming and vibrant space for all.
