Celebrating Local Talent!
We’re delighted to share that Newbiggin Town Council has awarded a £300 grant to support Kaitlyn Waddell as she travels to compete in the National Championships this summer!
On Wednesday 9th April, the Finance & HR Committee approved a £300 grant to help with costs for travelling down to National Championships throughout the Summer.
Cllr Fiona Rowley, Mayor of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, had the pleasure of presenting the cheque to Kaitlyn on behalf of Newbiggin Town council.
Kaitlyn, a dedicated member of the England Athletics Youth Talent Programme for 2 years, has already achieved incredible success:
English Schools Champion 2024
Silver at the English Nationals (with a PB of 51m!)
Currently ranked 1st in the UK this season!Her hard work and talent are an inspiration, and we can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next. Go, Kaitlyn!
