Anti-social behaviour at Newbiggin Sports Centre

Newbiggin Sports and Community Centre

Newbiggin continues to experience increased reports of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB); in particular Northumbria Police are receiving reports of youths climbing onto the roof of the Sports Centre, which is currently under refurbishment, soon be enjoyed by the local community.

Whilst the building is under development a large amount of scaffolding has been erected which is reported to be repeatedly used as a climbing frame by a small group of youths who are subsequently causing damage whilst doing so.

Northumbria Police would like to reinforce the dangers and consequences that playing on the scaffolding could have on young people and  encourage everyone to report any issues of ASB in the area.

Please continue to report your concerns with regards to ASB by:

  • calling Northumbria Police on 101,
  • or using their website, or
  • you can also report anonymously via Crimestoppers.
