Christmas Message from Newbiggin By The Sea Town Council

A Christmas message on behalf of Newbiggin By The Sea Town Council, from Chairman, Cllr Louise Spratt –

As we reflect on 2021, which has been another challenging time for us all as we continue to live with the ongoing effects of the pandemic – COVID 19. We have also had to recently overcome the damage our community has suffered due to storm Arwen. As a town we have shown that when we join together, we can achieve amazing things.

Every family will have their own struggles over this festive period, and we would like to remind you all that you are not alone. We hope you find comfort from family, friends, and those in the wider community. We have listed some organisations below that may be able to help –

Wansbeck Valley Foodbank

Crisis Team Northumberland

Samaritans based in Ashington

Northumberland County Council

Citizens Advice Northumberland Ashington Branch

Mind – Mental Health Matters

We are proud of our community and those individuals and organisations who have shown determination to bring community spirit to Newbiggin-By-The-Sea in 2021 and we look forward to building on these relations in the future.

As we look forward to 2022, we will see positive changes in Newbiggin.  January will see the Town Council come together and set out the budget to look to the priorities we have identified by listening to our residents’ concerns, enhance our assets and improve Newbiggin for our residents and those who visit us.  New members of the council team will play a vital role in the community, and we will see the opening of the new slipway.

On behalf of Newbiggin Town Council, we would like to wish all our residents, traders, organisations and visitors a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
