Coming soon in September…
➡️Replacement landscaping at the Horseshoe Steps
The timber has been rotting, and deeply rooted weeds have taken over here. We have planned a scheme to replace the timber with treated hardwood (mirroring the current design) and we have worked with local award winning landscape designer Sean Murray to design an all year round colourful, low maintenance, perennial planting scheme that will attract butterflies and bees.
As part of this scheme we will also be having a new illuminated heritage light installed at the arch and will be refreshing the paintwork on the rails, and seats.
Newbiggin by the Sea Town Council will then take over the maintenance of this planting area.
Works are due to commence 25th September – residents of Windsor Road should be mindful that some excavating machinery will be on the street and will require access as close as possible to the Horseshoe steps.
