Loo of the Year Award
Councillor Malcolm Peden, Mayor of Newbiggin by the Sea, was invited to Melanie’s Tea Room on Friday to unveil the eateries latest award, Loo of the Year 2019 (Platinum category).
Melanie and Paul both expressed their delight at having won the Platinum Award for their first class facilities. No strangers to awards, they also won the Innovative Eatery category at the 2018 Northumberland Day Awards.
The Platinum Award recognises the high standard of the ‘away from home’ washroom facilities.
The Mayor congratulated Melanie and Paul, commenting that ‘it is wonderful to see businesses inNewbiggin by the Sea being acknowledged for their high standards’.
Melanie’s Tea Room was one of only three establishments in Northumberland to win this award in 2019, the others being Wetherspoons in Morpeth and Alnwick Gardens.
