WEA North East are continuing with their innovative History Walks project called the ‘Routes of Social Change’. These mapped walking trails explore the rich social history of North East England.
Their mission is to unite locals in researching the history of various North East locations, reflecting on how historical events impacted communities. Together, they uncover forgotten stories, guided by WEA tutors.
They will be focusing on Blyth, Hartley, Newbiggin, Chopwell, South Shields, Washington, Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland, Easington, and Horden.
Join them as they delve into the North East’s complex history, embracing its diverse communities!

A New Heritage Research Group Meeting will take place at Newbiggin Sports and Community Hub on 23rd November from 12:00 to 14:00.
