Bus Shelters

Newbiggin Town Council provides and maintains 13 bus shelters throughout the Town. All bus shelters were refurbished or replaced by 2016-2017 providing seating (where possible) and clear visibility panels for the benefit of bus passengers within the limitations imposed by the highways authority.

After numerous acts of vandalism where the Perspex panels were smashed, at significant cost to the rate payer, the Town Council started converting the shelters to perforated steel panels.

In 2018 we installed a new bus shelter at Sea Crest Road.

In 2021, we replaced the stone shelter at Newbiggin Sports and Community Hub with a new steel mesh shelter.

In 2023, we replaced the stone shelter at Holmcroft, East Lea with a new steel mesh shelter.

Bus timetables are maintained by Northumberland County Council.

The bus shelters are cleaned weekly.
