Future events

We have commissioned Northumberland County Council Sports Development to run a  year of activities during term and holiday time, most of which will be free. More details will be published throughout the year as the programmes are finalised.

Past events

We commissioned Blyth Valley Arts and Leisure to run a comprehensive school-time and holiday programme for 6-10 and 11-16 year olds within Newbiggin by the Sea. A range of free activities are available.

BVAL will also be running a series of inclusion activities this winter, with a chance to get involved in the Olympics celebrations next summer.

We sponsored Bad Apples North East to provide music-related activities (DJing etc) for 12-17 year olds. This event was extremely well attended by children this summer. Congratulations to you all.

We worked with the Academy to run a summer term book festival, which involved a range of activities for children, parents and grandparents! It was an exciting programme, and hopefully will be repeated next year.

This August saw Newbiggin by the Sea embrace the world's newest instrument, the steel pan, which originated in Trinidad only 70 years ago. Organised by the Newbiggin by the Sea Partnership and with support from Newbiggin Town Council and Northumberland County Council, ten pupils from the Jackie Milburn Campus and John Dobson Campus were able to participate in a steel pan summer school and then go on to perform as Newbiggin's first ever steel band, under the tuition of Jenny Gilberg.
