We have agreed to make available approximately £7500 for a range of community summer events that will complement and extend the existing summer schedule. Events focusing around the Jubilee, Olympics/Torch visit and on any free weekends are especially welcome, although all applications will be considered.
If you are running a summer event this year and would like to apply for funding to support it, please apply using the Small Grants Scheme form. Further guidance is available from the Town Clerk. For summer events, the cap of £300 will be lifted, to allow for applications to cover the cost of hiring stalls from the County Council or other similarly expensive items. Please clearly justify your request as all requests will be carefully considered on individual merits and within the overall summer calendar. We may ask you to amend your proposal or work with other groups or events to maximise the events being hosted.
The Town Council have agreed to put £500 aside from the Small Grants Scheme in 2012 to provide a Jubilee Street Party fund, with applications invited for up to £50 each. More information is available in the application form.
