'Jonathan Livingston Seagull is alive and well and living in Newbiggin by the Sea', The Network Artists' Art Tour, starts Sat 11th June and is open each Sat and Sun until Sun 3rd July between 10am and 5pm, at the Old Ship and features artwork by local ceramicist Peter Seddon. The second annual Old Ship Music Festival takes place at The Old Ship on Sat July 30th and is raising money for The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

The European Power Lifting Championships 2011 will take place at Newbiggin Sports Centre from Tue 7th to Sat 11thJune. Opening ceremony, Tue 7th 9.30pm. Competitions start 10am each day.
Dip your toes in the water on in swim and triathlon challenges. Sat 23rd July is the Couple Challenge swim; Sun 24th July sees another Couple Challenge Triathlon; and Sun 11th Sep is the European Time Trials Sprint Triathlon. All in Newbiggin.
