ACTING TOWN CLERK AND RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER
The Town Council has welcomed Gillian Turner to our team. Gillian has been appointed as Acting Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer for a 6-month period to cover the maternity leave of the Town Clerk. She joined the team on 1st March.
Gillian is a CiLCA qualified Clerk with over 18 years experience in the sector; she is the Clerk to Longhorsely Parish Council and was the former Clerk to Morpeth Town Council, and also the former Principal Accountant to Northumberland County Council.
Gillian is fairy local and well known by many. She is looking forward to working with the Newbiggin community over the next 6 months.

Elaine commenced her appointment as Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer in May 2021, having previously been our Deputy Clerk since November 2017.
Elaine is a Principal Member of the Society of Local Council Clerks and has obtained both CiLCA and the Community Governance Cert HE.

ASSISTANT CLERK AND PROJECTS OFFICER
Leanne joined the team in November 2021 as Assistant Clerk and Projects Officer. She is currently undertaking the introduction into Local Council Administration (ILCA) qualification.
