Newbiggin by the Sea Christmas Video Project

As an alternative to the usual popular seasonal events, which have been cancelled due to Coronavirus, the Town Council has commissioned a Newbiggin by the Sea Christmas video which will be projected onto Cafe Bertorelli from 4pm -7pm on Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th December.

The short video was made by Sound Ideas Media and aims to encompass the spirit of Christmas in Newbiggin by the Sea.  We hope it will provide a small boost to our community during these trying times.  The video will be available to access online from Monday 14th December and will also be shared with the local care homes to bring a touch of Newbiggin Christmas spirit to their residents.  The video is approx. 7 minutes long and will be played on a loop each evening making it easy for many people to see it while observing social distancing.

A message from the Town Council: We hope the community enjoy this special video but advise all to please observe social distancing while watching the video. Despite the problems our community has fared better than many others. We are particularly grateful to those working in our shops, care homes, those looking after our health services and those looking after our schoolchildren. The community pulling together has warmed our hearts and lifted our spirits.

Due to Coronavirus Newbiggin Lifeboat have had to cancel their annual Boxing Day Dip and the effects of the virus has seen a huge rise in people needing to use food banks for the first time. If you are able to please donate to:
