Winter Kit for AFC Newbiggin

Newbiggin by the Sea Town Council recently supported AFC Newbiggin with a grant of £937 which was used to purchase winter training kits for the senior squad and officials.

John Messenger, Club Chairman stated ‘This kit is a huge lift to the squad allowing us to improve at training sessions with the correct equipment; it also allows us to arrive at games in a uniformed manner which is great for the image of the club and Town to others. Last year we had our most successful season in our history by winning 6 trophies. This is such an achievement as the average age of our team was under 21. Our players are made up predominately of young men from the Newbiggin area, that have come through their younger playing days with AFC Newbiggin Juniors. This local feel to our club has created a lot of pride and a great team spirit; this was certainly a key factor in our amazing success last season’.
