NORTHUMBERLAND NEEDS YOU… to Vote in The British Travel Awards!

It’s our time to shine (again) as Northumberland is in the running for the title of ‘Best UK Holiday Destination/County 2019’.
Last year, you voted for Northumberland as ‘The Best UK Holiday Destination/ County 2018’, and this year we need your help all over again following our nomination in the 2019 awards. We want Northumberland’s deserved crown to remain firmly on its head for the second year running and we can’t do it alone; we need our residents, visitors, local businesses, puffins and anyone else who loves Northumberland to vote and help it retain its rightful title.
We are the county with the most castles, the quietest National Park, the longest stretch of Hadrian’s Wall (and therefore the richest Roman history) and some of the most staggering beaches in the whole of the UK, and now more than ever is the time to gloat about it.
We are calling anyone who enjoys enthusing about our enchanting castles, boasting about our beaches, babbling about our bays and raving about our romantic gardens to show their support and vote for Northumberland.
Vote by visiting www.vote4northumberland.com You owe it to the awe-inspiring castles, barely-trodden landscapes, cascading waterfalls, archaeological wonders and staggering beaches of Northumberland.
Once you have voted, it doesn’t have to stop there. We need our residents to raise awareness, our sight-seers to spread the word and our tourists to tell anyone and everyone to vote for Northumberland and help us glow with pride for the second year in a row.
Northumberland County Council and Northumberland Tourism are working together to encourage to vote and ensure the title comes back to Northumberland again.
Following the British Travel Awards (BTA) win the council launched its Discover our Land campaign which aims to promote Nortumberland as a great place to live, work, visit and invest.
Cllr Cath Homer, cabinet member for Culture, Art, Leisure and Tourism said: “After years of chasing the accolade, finally winning the British Travel Awards last year was a real game changer for Northumberland.
“With the launch of the Discover our Land campaign following quickly on its heels the time is now for Northumberland”.

“Retaining the title would firmly establish the county as a tourist destination of choice and I would encourage everyone to vote again for our great county.”
