Vandalism at Central Park Play Area

Despite the efforts of the Town Council and most of the residents to make Newbiggin by the Sea a town to be proud of, we are disappointed to see that vandalism has occurred overnight at the Central Park play area. The new birds nest swing which was only installed in October 2018 has been damaged which has resulted in it being removed from the play area until repairs can be carried out – this could take up to 6 weeks and will be at the expense of the rate payer and disappointment of the children.

A litter bin was also damaged with litter strewn all over the play area – this has been tidied up but again at an expense.

The incident has been reported to Northumbria Police.
